Warranty Trip

The traveling season has begun! Yay!

It's hard to believe, but the one year warranty on our new fifth wheel is about to expire. I just can't believe that we've had it this long! Anyway, since it has been in storage all winter, we figured that it would be good to do a short trip in order to de-winterize the trailer and to ensure that everything is still working before the warranty expires.

So we loaded up on Thursday (after getting it back from having a hydraulic leak fixed) and headed to Oklahoma City on Friday. Our friends, Ron and Judy O, joined up with us in OKC on Friday as well. And it has been a great weekend! :)

We ended up going out to the Cattleman's Steakhouse in the Stockyards Distric of OKC for dinner on Friday night. And yes, it really IS in the middle of an active stockyard area. The atmosphere is very old school.... like one of those restaurants that has been around forever and updated very little during that time. But the food was awesome. Steaks... yum!

On Saturday, we spent some time going through the RV show at the fairgrounds. We came to the conclusion that, while the very long fifth wheels are nice, there really isn't anything we saw that we would trade ours in on. Grin. That's a good thing because we're still figuring out how this one works!

Then to satisfy the girls (of course), we power-shopped the outlet mall here in OKC. I didn't break the bank, so Max thought it was a good shopping trip.

And Saturday evening, we met up with Max's family to go out for some awesome Mexican food in Edmond. We had been to Ted's a couple of times in the past and have always loved both the food and the service. We did keep them on their toes as we were a party of 20!

After we went over to Max's sister and brother-in-law's house -- Charmi and Joe, to help Charmi celebrate her birthday. Nothing like topping off a mega Mexican meal with ice cream and cake. :) This is Charmi, opening some of her bd gifts. And you can see Max's brother and sister-in-law, Dave and Patsy, in the background.

We were also celebrating Max and I's wedding anniversary. 23 years. My!

The weather here has been all over the weather map. On Friday and Saturday, it was sunny and in the upper 70s to low 80s. Today, we woke to clouds and about 35 degrees. Brrrrrr.

But that didn't stop us from a bit more shopping. Ron and Judy had to head back today (they DO still have to work for a few more months). So after they loaded up, we all trooped over to the Camping World store. I had quite a list built up, so I made up for what I didn't spend at the mall yesterday. Yikes.

After that, Ron and Judy headed back north for home and we headed back to the RV park. It's a perfect dreary day to cozy-up inside and catch up on my reading.

Cheers!
