Shopping in Denver

Of course, we didn't do it justice, but we did get a little shopping done in Denver today. We started at the IKEA store. Oh lord, what a place. I've seen them but had never been in one. If I were furnishing a place right now, I would definitely start there. In fact, I found a couple of things for the camper. :)

And then we moved on.....

We don't have an Apple Store in Wichita. (Apple, do you hear me??? We NEED one!). Anyway, I'm contemplating a new laptop, so wanted to learn about my options. They are soooooo helpful there!

And then we braved the awful Denver freeway traffic coming home. Thankfully, Dad and Lena were able to get us off the freeway and guide us along the surface streets without too much fuss. It's good to have natives as guides. :)

OMG, it's hot!

What the heck?!?!  We came to Colorado for cooler weather...... Yesterday, in Wichita, it was 73 degrees. Today, in Denver, it was 95 or 96!  Sheesh!
Even the girls think it is hot!

Fortunately it cools off in the evening. We are sitting outside right now and it feels pretty good.

This evening we went with Dad and Lena to White Fence Farms for dinner. What a place!
This is just the entrance and doesn't do justice to the size. To give you an idea of the size.....
They give horse drawn carriage rides around the place. I thought this was a beautiful bay horse.

And the food was awesome. Family style fried chicken and all the fixins. Doesn't get much better than that.

And out in the parking lot......
I mean, really need who DOESN'T need a giant chicken on the back of their truck?!?!  Grin.

Denver!

And now for a few nice days in Denver.....
And we have a sweet camping spot!

We are staying with my dad and Lena. At the storage facility that my dad and brother own/operate. It makes for very good camping!

And being so close means that we get Lena's excellent Mexican cooking. Last nite was turkey tacos and rice. Doesn't get much better than that!

Travelin' doggies

We are pretty blessed with furry babies that don't mind traveling.
Gracie looks a little bored.... But she actually had just woken up. Kinda like that cranky, need a nap, 2 year old look. Grin.
And Gabi has that teenager, don't bug me mom, look. :)

First stop

The first stop in our journey brought us to Goodland. I know, what the heck?!?  Well, we have to spend the nite somewhere so this is a pretty good place.  We are at the KOA in Goodland and it is a pretty little park.
On some of their tree stumps, someone has been doing some pretty creative carving. Nice. :)

And since it is only one nite.....

We decided not to unhook from the truck. First time we've done that.
