First Outing

We are having our first outing in the new fifth wheel.... To El Dorado Lake with our best friends, Ron and Judy. What a beautiful weekend! We were actually going to do this last weekend, but the weather changed our mind. It's a bit hard to enjoy the lake when you are hiding out in a tornado shelter.... And that's what we would have faced last weekend! So here's the trailer after we got setup. Yep, we've added an outside rug. Still have to do some party lights! Grin.

Mom came out for dinner last night. Ron grilled burgers. Yum! And yes, we still have to invest in a grill as well (hmmm, does the spending ever stop!?!?).

And since Ron and Judy are seasoned RVers, they also though to bring firewood. So we spent some time in front of the fire last night. Nice!

All in all..... So far we are loving this!

Final Hours of Construction!

Today is the last day of construction in our remodeling project.  Woot!!!


Earlier this week, the mirror and glass guys came by to install our shower glass and vanity mirrors.  I think that this bathroom has turned out wonderfully!!  It certainly isn't the same "plain vanilla place" that we had before.

And today, James is laying the carpet in the dressing room......  We went with a neutral color, big loop berber.  Those steps have been giving him fits!

You will notice that I said "last day of construction" and not final day of the project, right???  Well that's because once James packs up all of his tools and moves on the the next job, Max and I still have a BUNCH of work to do!  

Notice all the "closet stuff" in the photo above?  Well all of that has to be reinstalled.  And yes, we are doing the re-installation.  sigh.  And then of course, there's the post-construction cleanup that has to happen.  Then the furniture needs to be polished and moved back in.  Then all the clothes have to be moved from the basement to the top floor.  Then.....  well, you get the idea!

Hopefully we'll be living in our new space sometime next week.  We'll see how it goes!

And the work goes on.....

Some of you have been asking about how our remodel is going. Well, it is still going.....  but I can see the light at the end of the tunnel, and thankfully it isn't a train!  <grin>


The new flooring in the bathroom, bedroom, and landing is in.  And oh my gosh, it is SOOO beautiful!

The pic above is of the bath floor and the one below is the flooring on the landing and in the bedroom.  While they look like stone/wood, the flooring is actually a composite material.  They are both so gorgeous!

The hardware for the sinks and shower have been installed.... and again, I think they are gorgeous!

So, as you can see, we are moving along.  There is still finish work to be done -- trim reinstalled, caulking to do, bathroom door to stain and install, dressing room carpet to install, etc.  


Hopefully by the end of the week, James will be done and we can then spend what I'm sure will be a fair amount of time moving back into the space.
