Where does the day go???

My goodness..... where does the day go when one is at the lake?!?!?

By the time our day was done yesterday, it was just waaayyyy too late to even think about composing a post -- so here is yesterday's dirt (a little late)!

Breakfast by the boys was outstanding, as usual.  Pancakes eaten outisde always have a better flavor. (Have you ever noticed that our days revolve around food???)

By about noon, we were finally packed up and on the lake.  Now I could say that we were busy, busy, busy..... but that wouldn't be true!  :)

'Cause most of the afternoon was spent floating and consuming adult beverages!  (Yes, I know, I need to teach my friends with cameras how to zoom.)

The water was a tad chilly, but felt pretty darned good once the clouds moved on.  And despite copious amounts of suntan lotion, I ended up a bit red.  Dang it!

Late in the day, Robbie and Nancy left to give Bailey a chance to try out his new wake board.  I wish that I could do justice to his story about the famous face plant..... heck I wish I could've seen it!  :)

Since no one was skiing in the Oelkers boat, we motored down to the Viola campground area.  This was a place that they had stayed in the past.  Beautiful campground, but much too exposed docks.

By the time we got back, it was definitely time to eat!  This time was sausage packets.  For us, that meant brats, potatoes, corn, onion, and butter all put in an aluminum foil packet and cooked on the grill.  Yummy!

And Judy treated us to strawberry shortcake for dessert last nite.  Are we spoiled or what?!?!

What a day!

Holy cow..... what a day at the lake!

As you might know, we are at Table Rock Lake with friends.  It is the annual Fourth of July trip for fun in the sun.

Today started out as usual..... with the guys cooking breakfast outside.  For some reason, a breakfast sandwich tastes WAY better when the guys cook it outside and when one eats it outside.  :)

We got our act together and got in the boats to do a bit of cruising and floating.  (It is sooooo nice to have awesome friends that have an awesome boat!)  We just got setup in a cove and Ron realized that his boat was still pumping out water from the bilge.  When he put in yesterday, he realized he had a hose loose so got it all fixed up.  At any rate, as he was poking around "under the hood" he realized that a plug had snapped off.  Yikes!

So Robbie and Nancy towed us back to the dock (in their new Cobalt boat -- hey, we know how to travel in style!).  Ron and Max went to town, got the $4 plastic part (go figure!), and got things back up and running.

Back out to the water we went!  Bailey spent quite a bit of time skiing --- doing a fine job on one ski.  *shaking head*  Don't know how he does that.

About 5 this evening we started heading back to the dock, a very uneventful trip this time.  Thank goodness.

Today has been mostly cloudy with peeks of blue sky.  But by the time we got back to the dock we could see the storms rolling in from the west.  And right after we made it back to the trailer, it started pouring.  Sheesh.

Dinner was delayed for a while.

The view outside Judy's camper..... dueling bbq grills!  :) But we did finally get our shishkabobs cooked.  They were absolutely yummy!  Max made us homemade Orange Dreamsicle ice cream for dessert.  OMG, it was good!

Ahhhhh, the lake!

It's time for our Fourth of July week at the lake.

And Gabi is ready for some fun and sun.... Now if the dang clouds would just go away!  :)
