The Newest Graduate

Is there anything better than a new graduate?!?  Our lovely niece graduated from high school this past Friday and we were blessed to be in attendance. 

HRR -- we are SO proud of you..... and can't wait to see what you will do in college!

Leather Thong Necklaces

Now I'm experimenting with leather thong necklaces.  They make a really fun and versatile piece of jewelry! You start with the basic leather thong necklace, like this.

And then you can add to or replace the charms with beauties like these.





Here's a green bear stone fetish charm.

And here is a hand punched copper metal charm with a message of faith. 


What I really love about this necklace concept?  You can wear each charm individually or you can load them all on at once.  Fun!!

Icy Blue Wire and Bead Bangle Bracelet

I've been updating some of the jewelry listings in my shop -- DrJDesigns -- and ran across the listing for a bangle bracelet that I just adore!  Here's what it looks like.....

I just LOVE these wire bangles -- love making them and love wearing them.  They are a blast to make because they are so free-form.  And I get to try out a variety of colors and use a whole host of beads on them.  Definitely no two alike!  If you want to see the listing in my shop for this awesome bracelet, just follow this link. 

I've been asked in the past how I learned to do all of this jewelry.  Like any new skill, I used a variety of methods to get here......  reading, experimenting, taking classes, tutorials, practice, etc.  But I do have to give a shout-out to Julie at Beadazzled.  She offers some awesome classes -- and her place is where I learned how to do the wire and bead bangle bracelet. 

Never Thought THAT Would Happen

I'm chalking this one up to the "I never thought THAT would happen" category of life.  Went shopping with my Mom yesterday.  We ended up at the AT&T store where I added HER to my cell phone plan.  And she got a new iPhone!  Seriously.  I NEVER thought that would happen!  <grin>
