Well it's time to de-winterize the baby and start our adventures!
Actually, first we had to start with a trip to the rv place. During the winter, we discovered that we have a small hydraulic leak in the fifth wheel. It took a couple of trips to the storage place to figure out where exactly the darned leak was.
So we had the appointment scheduled and then "BAM" -- snow, lots of it!
Some of you may have heard that a couple of weeks ago we ended up with somewhere around 21 inches of snow here. Those are the days that I'm glad that I'm retired and don't have to get out in it! :)
After about a week of melting, all that was left were the really big piles of snow so we decided to take the fifth wheel in to get the leak fixed.
Who woulda figured that we would need snow and ice melt to get it out of storage?!?! Sheesh.
The building where we store the fifth wheel actually has it's open side to the north. And the way it is situated, that side of the building doesn't get any direct sun. So there was about an 8 foot swath of ice and snow across the front. We were lucky to find a hardware store nearby that still had some ice melt. So after about 20 pounds of it and 30 minutes or so, we were able to pull out.
So later this week we get to load up and take a de-winterizing trip to OKC. Let the adventures begin!
Cheers,
Dr. J
