Just when I think that we are getting to be old pros at this, we pull a bone-head stunt. But more on that later.....
Today we moved north, starting the journey home. Rochelle and Roy brought Mom to Lake Travis this morning. We were mostly loaded up by the time they arrived. Last night i was dreading the the load up process. But I'm actually surprised at how smoothly the process goes. So we were on the road and headed north by about 10.30 this morning. We stopped for lunch just north of Waco. It is sooooo nice to be able to fix our own food and eat in our own space. Not that I don't enjoy fast food. It just gets really tiresome over and over.
We had packed everything away after lunch and headed up the road when Mom asked if we had shift off the fan and closed the vent. Oops! I had turned on the fan when we arrived at the rest stop to try to cool off the interior. And then we forgot to shut it off. And the next rest stop wasn't for another 50 miles. Unfortunately when we got there, it was closed. So we drive the rest of the way to Denton with our vent on top of the fifth wheel wide open. Fortunately, despite the wind, no damage was done. Whew!
We are staying at the same RV park that we stayed at on the way down a week and a half ago. And we are one spot over from that original stop. It is a real pretty and wonderfully shaded park. Here's what we look like all setup for the evening.
Tomorrow we load up and drive home. While we love being on the road, it will also be nice to get home.
Cheers,
Dr J
